Discover Earth’s Soundscapes

"Sound is the heartbeat of the biosphere, the places on Earth where life exists."

— Almo Farina

Who We Are

Listening to Earth was created to invite nature back into our lives. We are a soundscape library utilizing sensory experiences to engage our audience with nature from any location. Our soundscapes can be used for relaxation, education, and mindfulness practices. Our Soundscape Candle collection pairs scent and sound to transport your home into the natural world.

Environmental Relevance

Listening to Earth was created by Kelsey Zeigler in response to society’s physical dissociation from nature. Through her master's work in conservation biology, she realized the impact this disconnect has on our relationship with nature. If we can't see it, touch it, hear it, smell it, or taste it, we are less likely to care for it. Kelsey set to work combining her decade of professional experience recording sound for the film and television industry and her education in conservation to create Listening to Earth, an acoustic ecology focused project. She uses sound as the primary tool to engage her audience so they may reconnect with and more deeply appreciate the natural world. Her mission is to inspire communities to take action toward eliminating sound pollution.

We are eco-friendly

In doing our part to be sustainable, we have carefully chosen our packaging. Our glass candle jars and cardboard box can be recycled or reused. The shredded excelsior (instead of plastic bubble wrap) is biodegradable. It can be left outside as nesting material for wildlife, used as a drainage barrier in potted plants, or composted. We don’t use paraffin wax. Paraffin wax, the most popular commercial candle wax, is derived from petroleum, coal, or oil shale—non-renewable resources! Our soy wax is a renewable resource, biodegradable, and made from soybeans from the Midwestern United States.
